Gloria Oddo is an Italian architect-turned-artist based in Brussels, Belgium, specializing in new technologies for the preservation of historical buildings. With a deep passion for heritage and photography, they explore mixed media techniques, often painting or embroidering vintage photographs sourced from flea markets.
Their work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in France, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Greece, Belgium, and the United States.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My inspiration comes from antiquities and the stories they carry within them, old photographs with faded memories, and the textures of time-worn fabrics. Through my art, I aim to create new layers of meaning and breathe new life into these forgotten objects, transforming them into pieces that resonate with the present while still honouring the past. My work sparks a dialogue between the old and the new, preserving heritage while exploring new narratives and possibilities.
