HANNAH BROWN

ARTIST BIO

Hannah Brown graduated from Colorado State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a concentration in metalsmithing and jewelry.

Following her education, Brown moved back to Dallas to start her career as a custom fine jeweler for a local elite designer. After 11 years of honing her craft, she felt the need to switch her focus and go after a life long dream of becoming a studio painter.

By blending her jewelry career with her early childhood experiences of being raised by parents that embraced nature and creativity, she has created a distinct style all her own.

Brown primarily paints with oil on canvas to create her bold and eye catching gem encrusted paintings.


ARTIST STATEMENT

I lead a relatively simple life. I paint what is on my mind (what is on many peoples minds I suppose): the passing of time and grasping onto memories, the fragility of life, anxiety about global issues, and what the future holds.

In a previous chapter of my life, I thrived as a custom fine jeweler, reveling in the intricate artistry and the beauty of unique gemstones that fueled my creative process. This former passion echoes in my paintings. Jewels and gems embellish my canvases, serving as a signature and a nod to an important stepping stone.

Each stroke of my oil paintings are infused with personal narratives and layered symbolism while intertwining the timeless allure of nature to create poetic reflections of my innermost thought and emotions. I seek to spark meaningful dialogue that invites contemplation and connection.
