ARTIST BIO
Hannah Pratt is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the relationship between art, science, and data, with a particular interest in astronomy and climate change. Hannah earned her Master's in Art and Science from Central Saint Martins with distinction in 2019. She also attended UCA Maidstone for her foundation diploma and Kingston University London, where she studied for a BA in Fine Art, graduating in 2010.
Hannah has taken part in residencies and exhibited widely both in the UK and internationally. She has also visited and collaborated with several sites of scientific and historical significance, including CERN and the Royal Society.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Hannah Pratt is a UK artist based in London, exploring the relationship between art and science.
Her practice centres around astronomy, space travel, data literacy, and climate change.
Hannah has always drawn inspiration from science, and science fiction, as a way to make sense of the world around her and incorporating science into her practice has opened up a whole new world of possibilities of where her work could go.
Hannah is currently working on a series of pieces inspired by women in science history and their contributions to astronomy called “The Colour of Starlight” where she uses a combination of digital and analogue art-making techniques to create works directly influenced by the colours found in the cosmos.
Pratt’s work encompasses a wide range of mediums, including painting, drawing, textiles, and printing. She also uses various techniques and materials to create her work, depending on the subject matter.
