Her work has gained recognition for its emotional depth, intricate craftsmanship, and ability to inspire. Whether through the delicate details of her Oracle card illustrations, the expressive strokes of her paintings, or the carefully stitched pages of a handmade journal, Jane Marin continues to encourage others to embrace art as a pathway to storytelling, healing, and self-discovery.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Art is my sanctuary and my way of making sense of the world. As a neurodivergent artist, creativity is how I self-regulate, find balance, and reconnect with myself. Through illustration, mixed media, and bookbinding, I weave together elements of nature, history, and symbolism to create work that invites reflection and storytelling.
I am best known for my Oracle card illustrations, where each image is infused with meaning, intuition, and a deep reverence for the unseen threads that connect us all. My work is inspired by the intricate patterns of nature, the wisdom of the past, and the healing power of creativity.
Bookbinding is an essential part of my practice—not just as an art form, but as a meditative ritual that helps me reset. The rhythmic, structured process of stitching pages and crafting books brings a sense of calm and focus, allowing me to navigate the world in a way that feels grounded and intuitive. Each handmade book is more than an object; it is a vessel for self-expression, a safe space for thoughts, stories, and creativity.
Through my 'Gather and Create' workshops, I share my many different processes with others, offering a nurturing space where creativity becomes a tool for connection, self-discovery, and emotional regulation. Whether painting, illustrating, or binding books, my art is a way of healing, remembering, and sharing the magic found in everyday moments.
