ARTIST BIO

Samantha Malone (b. 1978) is a visual artist originally from Australia's east coast and currently living in Tel Aviv-Jaffa with her husband and two children. She is a self-taught artist with an academic background in environmental science and marketing. Although she has been creating art her whole life, she only began painting professionally a few years ago, after years of uncertainty about the direction of her life. Painting has become a lifeline that she immerses herself in daily, where she finds solace and pleasure in discovering her true calling.

In 2023, Samantha was selected to exhibit at the London Art Biennale. She has participated in several online exhibitions, including Florence Contemporary Gallery, Contemporary Art Chronicle and Gallery Omnibus, and her artworks have been featured in international art magazines, including Al-Tiba9, SuboArt, and Arts to Hearts Magazine, among others.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My art explores the interconnectedness of life through the lens of abstraction. I use bold and vivid colors, looping forms, and complex layering to reflect the interconnected web of existence that ties all things together. The emotional power of color and abstract forms is fundamental to my work. By using a vibrant spectrum, intricate patterning and diverse shapes, I aim to tap into an array of emotional responses, guiding the viewers through an immersive experience. I work primarily with acrylic paint on canvas, often incorporating mixed-media techniques, such as layering the artworks with watercolor pencils and acrylic markers to create depth and visual engagement. My creative process is defined by my self-taught approach, which involves intuitively building layers and patterns until the artwork feels complete.
