A THING BECOMES BEAUTIFUL BY THE POSSIBILITY OF ITS ABSENCE.
EVERY MOMENT, EVERYWHERE, SOMETHING CHANGES: SOMETHING OPENS UP, BLOOMS, SHIFTS, RISES, RIPENS, HATCHES, HOLDS ONTO. WE MAY BE TOO PREOCCUPIED TO NOTICE, BUT WE VALUE THE EPHEMERAL: THE EARLIEST, FRAGILE BLOOMS OF SPRING ARE ALMOST MORE WONDROUS THAN THE PERENNIALS. WE GRUMBLE AT RAIN, BUT THE SHORT-LIVED PATTERNS OF WATER ON WATER ARE MESMERIZING AND LOVELY. SOME OF US ARE FRIGHTENED OF SPIDERS, BUT THEIR COMPLEX NIGHTLY ARCHITECTURE HOLDS ONTO DEW IN GORGEOUS PRISMATIC ORBS.
I OFFER UP SUCH TRANSITIONAL MOMENTS AS A CHANCE TO HOLD ONTO FLEETING BEAUTY, AN OPPORTUNITY TO BREATH DEEPLY AND OBSERVE, A MOMENT TO CAPTURE THE MOMENT BEFORE IT IS GONE. THESE ARE GIFTS WE CAN BE PRIVY TO IF WE TAKE TIME TO STOP, AND TO BEHOLD.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bronle Crosby is a painter of natural world realism. Her artistic goal is to invoke calm and contemplation via serene paintings of close-up corners of the big picture of life, in rich subtle colors and painterly detail.
Crosby’s work is included in public collections, including The City of Coronado, Whitman College, and Rancho Valencia Resort. Her paintings are also held in private collections worldwide. In addition to the artist’s group, solo, and gallery shows, her work has been included in several museum exhibitions throughout California.
"These paintings are about transitions in nature, the spaces in-between: the last drops of rain as the storm passes over; just before the dawn dew on the web evaporates; the moment before the egg hatches; the primordial love story of pollinator and blossom; the evanescent life span of a soap bubble. I hope my paintings invoke memories of such tiny, miraculous details and bring a breath of quiet awareness to viewers."
